Healthy Recipe: Kale Chips

Kale Chips are made in the air fryer very simply by following the following steps.

    1. Wash the Kale using lukewarm water and a vegetable spray. The name brand of mine wasn’t visible in the video, but any vegetable or fruit spray intended to remove any impurities or bacteria is great.
    2. Pat the kale dry with a paper towel.
    3. Remove the large stem from the leaves. The stem of kale can make the overall taste bitter, but this step is optional.
    4. Rip/dice/cut kale into bite sized pieces. *Note the leaves do shrink when they’re cooked, so don’t make the pieces too small.
    5. Pour 1Tbsp of olive oil on the kale and toss it.  Make sure all pieces are coated. If your preference is to use an olive oil spray, that works fine too. Just make sure, the olive oil spray has a higher burning temperature than 375 degrees fahrenheit for the air fryer or the 300 fahrenheit for the oven.
    6. Sprinkle a desired amount of Sea Salt or Pink Himalayan Salt onto your freshly cut kale.
    7. Turn on the air fryer and place the kale inside. Make sure you don’t layer the kale or else not every piece will be crispy.
    8. Set the air frying heat to 375 degrees fahrenheit and reduce the cooking time to 3-5 minutes. Cook!
    9. If you choose not to use an air fryer, step 7 would be replaced with setting the oven to 300 degrees fahrenheit and waiting until the oven has reached the proper temperature. Then you would place a baking sheet with a thin layer of kale into the oven for approximately 20 minutes.
    10. Enjoy!
